#1194 SHERRIFF OF NOTTINGHAM SERIES#
George died near the window, and his plans were ruined Richard kept the throne. There were three series seasons, comprising a two-hour opening episode and one hour-long episodes, although the pilot is sometimes screened as two one-hour episodes and the episodes comprising "The Swords of Wayland" were transmitted as one episode in the UK on their original screening on a Bank Holiday weekend in 1985. Robin headed to the tower and fought the sheriff there after the sheriff tried to rape Marian, stabbing him in the heart with a dagger after a short fight. He planned to marry Marian at Nottingham Castle as ten of Robin's captured men would be hanged, but Robin and six other men headed to the castle and rescued them. He hired an army of Celts from the north and burnt down the bandits' camp in the forest, and he captured Marian Dubois when he found out that she was attempting to tell King Richard about his plot. Nottingham turned to Mortianna several times, seeking her advice and her premonitions about the future. These bandits stole from the rich and gave to the poor, and Nottingham had Guy executed for failing him. The Sheriff of Nottingham sent troops to kill Robin, and Robin later fled to Sherwood Forest and formed the Merry Men out of several bandits. Later, Locksley's son Robin of Locksley (thought to be dead) returned to England after returning from the crusade, and he had a fight with Guy of Gisbourne's men after they attempted to kill a child five miles from Locksley Castle. In 1194, the sheriff killed Lord Brian of Locksley when Locksley refused to join him, and he had Brian declared a "devil worshipper". The sheriff planned to seize power for himself, allying with the enemies of King Richard and paying them with gifts to gain their allegiance. George was the cousin of Guy of Gisbourne, and he was appointed as the sheriff of Nottinghamshire under John of England, the brother of King Richard the Lionheart who served as the regent of the Kingdom of England while Richard embarked on the Third Crusade in 1189-1194. He never knew his parents and he was raised by the witch Mortianna, and he had a bad childhood. George was born in 1149 to the House of Nottingham, a family of English Catholics. In 1194 he planned to seize power for himself with the aid of several enemies of King Richard, but he was thwarted in these attempts by Robin Hood and was killed by Robin that year, having killed Robin's father.

George, Sheriff of Nottingham (1149-1194) was a noble of the Kingdom of England who was appointed as the sheriff of Nottinghamshire under King Richard the Lionheart.
